We'd love to hear from you. Tell us how JoberTalk.com could make your job search, candidate search or HR life more efficient and effective. We will take all considerations seriously.
I think if there was a way for a candidate to create a page, then post their resume in their blog so that hiring managers or agencies could search for them in JoberTalk....that would be cool! Plus if they post their resume on their page, Google, Yahoo and MSN will index that page really quick and then people could find them on the internet when they are searching for resumes for positions within their company. Just my thought..
Interesting. I think the candidates can definitely post their skills or resume on their JoberTalk page. If they were to post it in their page's "blog" section, they could then take that feed and syndicate it, thus giving them greater exposure.
Good thoughts. We'll try to put something on the home page about it.
Employers can post job openings...they just need to post an entry to their blog on their blog page for the company. I would think more employers would want to post to their blog since it is picked up by Google and others so quick...plus it is free!
I would like to see more input on Jobertalk with regards to career change. I think that has been a real important issue when your first job is in a technical or engineering career based on my experience. I would like to understand the definition of transferable skills. Why is it an issue if I worked in aerospace, but now I want to work in energy & utilities. It would be a plus if human resource personnel could answer questions regarding this subject matter.
Thanks for the comments Ian. The address book is a touchy subject with HR people. One thing you can do is add HR manager or group to you as a friend. The list of open jobs is something that we are trying to encourage all hiring managers to post onto the site so people can see the positions. Since this is free and google comes to jobertalk a few hundred times a day...you would think more companies would use this service. We are trying though...promise!
Thanks again for your comments and being active on the site. Any help in promoting new members would be appreciated.
Good luck with you search and please keep us posted on any other ideas.
