Melendez - Yard Multimedia, Inc. is a start-up Internet Media/ Branding company. We provide website design and internet branding services to small business. We also own and operate a few Niche Social Networking Communities.

*This is a tele-commute position so the candidate will be able to work from home. Candidate will be paid a percentage of the communities monthly revenue.


We are currently seeking a Community Manager to manage, and grow our established community.
The Social Network Community Manager will be the primary player in that community, reporting directly to the CEO and with direct responsibility for the community's agenda, growth, membership and health.

The most important part of this job is that the candidate must have experience with social media . This means that the person is actively participating in a wide variety of social media activities such as blogging, communities , social bookmarking, commenting, etc. and is well-connected with the broader social media world. The second important part is that the candidate must be able to think strategically, but be willing and able to roll up his sleeves to help implement the programs.

Responsibilities – the key responsibilities for this position include:

* Experiment with new and alternative ways to leverage social media activities (“marketing R&D”)
* Monitor trends in social media tools, trends and applications and appropriately apply that knowledge to increasing the use of social media at XYZ

* Measure the impact of social media on the overall marketing efforts


Day to day duties include:

Member communication - Send out email updates to all members roughly every week. This communication is critical for making sure that people keep our community in the forefront of their mind.

Content generation - Fresh content in a community is key whether it is in the form of discussions, uploaded articles and links or blog posts. Community managers need to ensure that their community always has fresh content.

Day-to-day management - On a daily basis, there are a multitude of tiny tasks that are critical to maintaining a community. These tasks range from reviewing every new member’s profile, updating permissions, answering questions, listening to what the members are saying, reviewing and moderating posts where necessary, contacting bloggers, lining up webcast speakers, moderating monthly webcasts.

Marketing, guerilla marketing and brand evangelism - To keep the flow of new members at an even clip, the manager must constantly look for opportunities to boost or promote the community by doing things like posting comments in Yahoo Groups, added your 2 cents to blog posts while searching for new content, following and making friends with people on Twitter, and participating in other social media sites.
