Employment Networking Job Talk - Careers Employment Jobs Hiring - Nationwide

I am currently unemployed I was employed with Citi Group as an AVP in Corporate tax. I am in transition right now. I am back in school and pursuing my Ph.D in organizational Psychology schedule to be finished summer of 2010. I am having a bit of a problem making this transition. I am looking to be involved in stratrgic planning, change management, talent retention or leadership training. To cope with the current economy I believe managers cannot function with a business as usual attitiude with two or three different generations clashing in the workplace and the great emphasis on cultural diversity, minds need to be retrained in order to be effective as leaders. That is the area I am looking to impact. Any help from an HR perspective will be appreciated as to how to best tailor my resume to get organization's attention.

I would like to thank you for starting this discussion!, I was beginning to believe that no one was interested in this group.

Unfortunately I am not experienced in either your previous career or your new chosen one! I do however fully understand your future objectives and the difficulty you must be having in getting the information you need.
I really hope that someone will step up an help you!

All the best with your quest!

Cheers Ian
I too am currently unemployed but I am working on my degree in business. My past work experience is largely in the I.T. field, and I've worked as a helpdesk technician, even done many contract jobs in the field. Even with my certification with CompTIA the industry just doesn't seem to be recovering. So I am hoping to change careers and go into medical coding and billing. When I graduate in March of 2010 I'm hoping to get certification as well and start working in this new field. I just don't know very much about the industry and am hoping that my knowledge with computers will make me more marketable.

Any advice or information about going into the medical coding and billing field would be wonderful. And if anyone would know what I could do to start working in a position related to this while finishing school would be great too.

Great idea for a group! I think alot of people are having to move from one industry to another these days.
I'm so glad I found this group. When it comes to success, career and, of course, motherhood I've accomplished that. Now I want to make a difference, in something, different! I don't want to be the head of, or manager of, or executive of, anything. At 59, my attitude is extremely good and I have a zest for living. I need to and want to work, I just am not sure what I should do. I enjoy working and being purpose driven and have been "off" too long now. Retirement is not all that one might expect!

Any thoughts might be helpful...
