Ian, you must be right...either everyone loves there job or this site is not as popular as others out there. I mean let's face it...JoberTalk is not Myspace or Careerbuilder.
Hey Sally! Good to meet you so we can get this dialogue rolling. I am sure with the economy and all going through downturn, this will give us an opportunity to dialogue & in turn cause some positive feedback to come about.
When I graduated with my masters degree in engineering management. I spoke with a career counselor and I discussed that I was targeting a specific region of the United States. His advice was to communicate with people in the specific area & gain…
We want this group to gather people together who want to discuss crossing over disciplines or industries, we know it is possible, but employers need to see it is so!

Tell Us About You/Your Company or What Type of Work You Do if Seeking Employment
Currently, I am Certified Hybrid Six Sigma Black Belt for an automotive company. The hybrid term comes from the fact that I am trained in the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, & Control) & DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) problem solving techniques. I support engineering functional teams such as ones who are involved with thermoplastic materials and heating, ventilation, & air conditioning issues for process and design.

Nice to hear from you, looks like we are both Web virgins, I will try and have a go at starting it when I gat a spare few minutes, I am about to re-launch my Resumes and that takes a few days as I use Yahoo and they limit the amount of e-mails hour, and I also have to go through the pleasure of uploading all the details on to the web job sites.
Anyway nice hearing from you!
We can get our heads together after I have tried it
I noticed you reply to one of the questions by Jobertalk
I saw that you are looking to transfer your skills in to other fields, I also noticed that you have a lot of knowledge of Six Sigma, I am quite surprised that you were not swept up by someone like Bechtel who are very much into six sigma!
Anyway to my point! I was wondering if you were any good at setting up these groups and if so would you be interested in setting one up for “Engineers wishing to transfer to other engineering fields”
If so let me know
It would be good to talk any way as sometime in the future we may be able to help each other
I teach communication studies at a public university in Houston, TX. I'm particularly interested in business and professional communication skill sets - the ability to write, speak and interact with colleagues and customers on a professional level. As a communications consultant, I offer services to train small groups, executives, and supervisors how to communicate to accomplish specific business goals such as increased sales or revenue, change management, interpersonal communication, departmental teams, and project management. I believe a business and professional communication skill set is critical to the business and professional community.
Hope this answers your question. Thanks for your email!
