Respond to customer outages per defined process or procedure. Interact with customers at all levels to resolve server or network outages.

CMOC HP OV NNM– Subject Matter Expert (SME) member of a design team tasked to select, design, build, test, and deploy the next generation of network and system monitoring and management tools and systems for the Centralized Management Operations Center (CMOC) of the Commercial, State, and Local Group sector. The distributed NNM system was upgraded from NNM 6.4 to 7.01 and then to 7.5. The project was completed within budget and time frame.

NOC Lead– Ensure the NOC is staffed according to schedule, assist in troubleshooting network outages as necessary, track status of chronic outages, ensure documented procedures are followed.
Systems Analyst 4–Install, configure, maintain HP OV NNM 6.X in a distributed environment, monitoring over 2900 network devices and servers. Maintain 3 other HP OV NNM systems for external customers. Monitor change notices and make the necessary changes to local DNS, CiscoWorks2000, and HP OV NNM systems. Design, install, and configure monitoring systems for the NOC and as requested, for CSLS or IIS bids. Write Unix shell and Perl scripts as needed.

Sr. Network Engineer-Install, configure, and maintain HP OpenView NNM; Monitor company and contracted customer network and VPN equipment: Provide 14X7 alpha pages to on-call; Design and configure various VPN solutions for diverse customers using a variety of vendors including Netscreen, Altiga (Cisco), Nortel,, and Nokia. Bench testing of vendor interoperability, network design, and testing of the latest versions and maintenance releases of vendor VPN operating systems.

LAN/Wan Connectivity-Fault isolation and repair of twisted pair, and fiber optic cable using a Microtest 3xx, Fluke 672 Lanmeter, Network General Sniffer, LaserPression OTDR; installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Cisco 30XX, 40XX, and 7XXX routers; installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Synoptics/Baynetworks 20xx, 30xx, and 50xx network hubs. Install, configure and maintain local HP OV NNM station for Commercial Aircraft Division.
Logistics/Administration-Request bids, place orders, and maintain an inventory of 350+ line items consisting of numerous types of wire and connectors, fiber optic cable and related supplies, personal computer repair/upgrade and HP printers / plotter repair parts; manage and account for over $450,000 in yearly inventory; provide accounting with monthly rollup of unit charges; provide management with monthly, quarterly, yearly, and as requested detail accounting; process all unit RFS’s.
Mainframe Connectivity- Installation, configuration of various IBM/Memorex terminal and printers, configuration, installation, troubleshooting, and repair of IBM/Memorex cluster controllers, installation, configuration, troubleshooting of Datatel T1/FT1multiplexers; CSUs/DSUs; line drivers, and line sharing units.
