An incumbent exercises some independent judgment (instructions, determining work sequence and priorities) and works independently for those tasks falling within the day-to-day routine. Supervision, other than that which is enforced by the procedural system of the department, is needed only for the nonstandard document, the exceptional or the unexpected item. An incumbent has frequent contact with other departments to exchange information and resolve problems related to the work at hand. An incumbent may perform any combination of the following or comparable tasks:
Processes nonrepetitive and/or difficult documents ensuring completeness and accuracy. Consequences of error are significant, requiring an incumbent to have a sound knowledge of office procedures and applicable Company policy.
Maintains records of processed documents for ready access, and compiles various routine reports according to standard operating procedures. Compiles information from several sources to prepare special reports according to general supervisory instructions and/or guidance provided by more experienced office personnel.
Examines computer printouts of daily transactions and discrepancies. Verifies and reconcile errors.
Operates a keyboard-controlled data entry device, an electric typewriter, or word processing equipment. This equipment is used to transcribe a variety of business and statistical source data into a form suitable for computer processing; type difficult or complex correspondence, reports, tables, and forms; or record, edit, store, revise,and produce correspondence, reports, statistical tables, and forms.
Operates other office equipment such as a calculator, computer terminal, copier, embossing machine, microfilm viewer, etc.
