I haven't been on the job market for a while, but I think that getting in contact with the people who hire is very important. I have not had much success yet, but have only been at it for a couple of weeks. I went on an interview with a temp agency. The interviewer was interviewing me for accounting jobs, which she thought I'd be great at considering my skills test results. In the interview, I produced a job description to work with their company. She gave me the contact information of the person hiring for the position, and I immediately contacted her. I now have a direct number and direct e-mail, rather than the "info@companyname.com", to which if I send my resume, I am possibly sending it to never never land. The job had already been filled, but my resume is now in the hands of the person who makes the decisions. I think strategy is really important right now for getting in the door and getting to know the right people. Any thoughts?
