I'm feeling guilty today, had an interview with Sherrie at Frontline and have missed 3 interviews with her. First my car got sick, then I forgot, and then the temp agency interview at 9 yesterday morning. It was a whirlwind of interviews. The initial group interview seems to be the way several firsma are going, this makes the 4th such interview I've been to in the last few weeks. 25 people in the first interview, narrowed down to 13 by the second part of the interview; then narrowed again to 6; then individual interviews and you're hired or not. The whole process took a couple of hours.
Oh, and I thought this only happened on the pages of the "worst interview ever", but this happened in the group interview yesterday, one of the ladies who was in the group interview with me last week. First, she came to the interview in a less than professionally dressed manner, and then she told the interviewer that she had another appointment in an hour, so could she go first so she could leave and then proceeded to tell the interviewer that the hiring company would have to adjust their working hours to fit into her schedule, as she couldn't be expected to give up her workouts, time with her children, or socializing with her ladies group. She didn't make t past the first elimination.
There's Job Fair today from 11 to 2 in Plano, so it's off to another day of interviews and such. The I have another interview at 4, it's the 3rd interview with the same company (I think that they want to hire me, but they don't know where or with whom to put me). At least the interview and Job Fair are close together. I feel like it's been an endless round of Job Fairs and interviews since the "re-vamped" resume was published. I do have a temp job for several weeks, so I might just make it through March without to many problems. I am hoping for the "job fairy" to waive his/her/its magic wand, and I'll be hired on the spot for a fascinating job. I didn't think that sort of thing happened in this day and age, but I saw it happen. In the meantime, I have the temp job and everything is going to look up!
