Agreed, I have had several phone interviews and a couple interviews that got me in front of the various groups assigned to the face to face interviews. It seems that everyone is either re-vamping the need to fill positions or just playing out the waiting game. With over 700 applications and resumes posted in two months I really would have thought to have heard more back in the way of feedback or just common courtesy in sending out a decline letter. I know that many recruiters and hiring managers are being slammed with applications and weeding through them is really tough to find the right person. With my qualifications and experience, I really didn't think it would be as tough as the "world outside of Texas" has made it sound....but it really is. Networking and who you know is going to be the key.

I have worked for a financial call center for the past 12 years in NE. I am working on finishing my doctorate in education and need to complete my doctoral study. I moved to TX to do this and get a job teaching college classes which I have been doing on the side for the past 4 years. I also do public speaking and corporate training. I have put in 50-60 resumes over the past month since the relocation with little to no response. What good does the education do us??

I am working on the Strip in Fabulous Las Vegsas, however, my job will be over soon and I have a disabled husband. I will have to move back home to Texas. I have already put in over 200 resumes. I am a project Engineer with a Plumbing and Mechanical company. I am also an OSHA 500 trainer (I teach OSHA 10 and 30 classes) my biggest obstacle is that I am a woman in a male dominated market. It is really tough out there! I have been in construction for 15 years and I have never seen it this bad!
