Why I Started JoberTalk — and Why Small Businesses Deserve Better
Some of my earliest memories are of my parents in the home office, long after the sun went down, laptops open, notepads full, talking through the plan for their business. There was no clock-out time. No paid time off. No corporate safety net. Just two people who believed deeply enough in something they had built to keep showing up for it every single day.
Growing up as the child of small business entrepreneurs taught me things no classroom ever could. I watched my parents navigate slow seasons and big wins, difficult customers and loyal ones, moments of doubt and moments of pure joy. I saw what it cost them — in time, in energy, in sacrifice — and I saw what it gave them — sense of ownership, purpose, and legacy that you simply cannot manufacture in a cubicle.
Small business is what this country is built on, and the people running those businesses deserve far better support than most of them are getting.
That is exactly why I started JoberTalk.

What I Saw That I Couldn’t Ignore
Before launching JoberTalk, I spent years working inside and alongside major corporations. I understood the machine. I knew how large marketing departments operated, how campaigns were built, how budgets were allocated, and how agencies were managed. While those experiences were valuable, something always felt off.
In the corporate world, clients are often account numbers, strategies are templated, content is recycled and the people making decisions about your brand are three layers removed from anyone who actually cares about your business succeeding.
When I started working with small businesses directly, I saw the other side of that problem up close. Business owners were signing contracts with large digital marketing agencies and getting very little in return. Packages were overpriced and underdelivered. SEO work was copied from client to client with nothing customized. Social media captions were generic, inconsistent, and completely disconnected from the brand’s voice. Some clients had been paying for website optimization services for months with no measurable improvement in their search rankings or traffic.
Worse than the poor results was the lack of communication. Owners were not hearing from their agencies, questions went unanswered, analytics were never explained and when results did not come, the agency was nowhere to be found.
Price gouging in the digital marketing space is a real and serious problem for small businesses. Owners who are already stretched thin on time and resources are being sold services they do not fully understand at prices that do not reflect the actual value delivered. Since most small business owners are focused on running their business rather than auditing their marketing agency, the problem often goes undetected for far too long.
I saw all of this and knew I had to do something different.
What Makes JoberTalk Different
JoberTalk was built from the ground up as an alternative to the transactional agency model. We are not a factory. We do not have a library of recycled blog posts or a template we copy from one client to the next. Every strategy we build is specific to the business we are building it for.
When you work with JoberTalk, you work with me directly. There is no account manager passing messages between you and someone who has never heard your story. I take the time to understand your business, your customers, your goals, and your voice before a single piece of content is written or a single social media post is scheduled. That one-on-one connection is not a feature we advertise. It is the foundation everything else is built on.
Our content is curated, not mass-produced. Whether I am writing SEO-optimized blog posts, crafting social media captions, building a content calendar, or providing ghostwriting services for your website or newsletter, every word is written with your specific audience in mind. I am not filling a quota. I am building your brand.
Our SEO strategies are designed to help your business show up where your customers are searching — on Google, on YouTube, and increasingly on AI-powered platforms like ChatGPT and Perplexity. Search engine optimization is not a one-time task. It is an ongoing process of creating authoritative, keyword-rich content, optimizing your website, and building the kind of digital presence that earns trust from both search engines and the people using them. At JoberTalk, that process is transparent. You always know what we are doing and why.
Social media management at JoberTalk means more than scheduling posts. It means building a consistent voice, a recognizable brand, and a content strategy that drives real engagement and converts followers into customers. We handle everything from caption writing and graphic direction to hashtag strategy and performance tracking.
Why Small Businesses Are My Passion
I could have stayed in the corporate world. The stability is real and the paychecks are predictable, but watching my parents build something from nothing — and knowing how hard that road is — made it impossible for me stay.
Small business owners are some of the hardest working, most resilient people I have ever met. They carry more on their shoulders than most people realize. The last thing they need is a digital marketing partner who treats their budget like a revenue line and their brand like a checkbox.
Every client I work with at JoberTalk represents someone who had the courage to build something. My job is to make sure their digital presence reflects the quality of what they have built and to help more people find it.
